Havana, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) President Fidel Castro said Cuba currently has a better vision of socialism and called for university students, who represent the new generation, to keep it alive.

Addressing representatives and leaders of higher education centers on Thursday, the Caribbean leader said that amid the adverse circumstances prevailing in the world, Cuban people's difficulties are met.

The enormous efforts to overcome hardships have made possible hundreds of works in progress with the decisive participation of the young social workers, who are present in the current fight against crime, asserted the Cuban leader.

In Thursday´s speech, Fidel reflected on possible causes that could bring about the reversion of a deep revolutionary process as the one Cuba is living.

He said the consequences of any other could be terrible, which has been seen in more than once in history.

n that respect, the head of state stressed Cuba currently has much more resources, even though they have been wasted for years, when some believed that the capitalist methods could save socialism and the country.

Fidel Castro said Cuban people have enough knowledge and capacity to continue making socialism, despite US aggression and the blockade, which was recently rejected by 182 countries at the UN.

"All the technology and strength of our enemies in the north is nothing compared to Cuba's biggest weapon, a people with a high educational and political level that would never allow us to become again a US colony," said Fidel.
